About MSP 2006:
The Production and Quantitative Method Areas of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in collaboration with the Operational Research Society of India, Ahmedabad Chapter is pleased to announce a National Conference on Management Science and Practice during March 31st to April 1, 2006. This Conference is held in honour of Professor J.L. Saha who superannuated in December 2005 after a long and distinguished service from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Professor Saha was Director of IIM Ahmedabad during 1997-2002.
The purpose of this Conference is to provide an opportunity for scholars working in the broad area of applied management science to present and share their work. It is hoped such Conferences would promote interaction among industry and academia. Often, such interactions lead to new and challenging research areas.
The Conference would consist of several invited presentations by friends, colleagues and students of Professor Saha. The Conference is open to academicians and practitioners working in the broad area of applied management science.
It is planned to bring out a printed volume of the papers presented in the conference in honor of Professor Saha on the opening session. This Conference is scheduled to begin on March 31st 4.00 p.m. and will end on April 1st 6.00 p.m. There is no registration fee to attend this conference. However all participants are expected to register to facilitate planning. The registered participants would have access to the conference proceedings and publication, lunches and dinner. Dormitory accommodation is reserved for registered participants on IIMA campus on a first cum first serve basis.
Contributed papers are invited for this Conference in the broad area of management science with a clear focus on application. Ideally, the presentation should focus on an important practical problem or discuss a methodology which has relevant and meaningful application in real life. We seek contributions from the industry emphasizing an application with appropriate academic rigor. Limited financial support for travel to attend the conference is
available for papers which are accepted for presentations in the conference. For additional information, please contact the Coordinator.
If you want to participate in this Conference, please send an email (nravi@iimahd.ernet.in) with your name, designation and affiliation and the desire for accommodation on IIMA campus.
Alternatively, the registration form may be completed and mailed to the Co-ordinator. If you want to contribute a paper, please send an abstract as early as possible but preferably before February 15, 2006.
The full paper for presentation should be available by March 15, 2006.
